SocialTide - Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the SocialTide mobile application ("SocialTide," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old
  • You are legally permitted to use this service in your country

Description of Service

SocialTide is a social communication platform that helps people stay connected through simple, meaningful conversations. Features may include chat, groups, and daily prompts.

SocialTide is not responsible for user-generated content, but we reserve the right to moderate content to maintain a safe experience.


User Accounts

Account Responsibility

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the service.


User Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create on SocialTide.

License to Operate the Service

You grant SocialTide a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, and display your content only to operate and improve the app.

We do not claim ownership of your content.


Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Harass, bully, intimidate, abuse, or harm other users in any way
  • Post, share, or transmit illegal, misleading, explicit, hateful, violent, or otherwise objectionable content
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems
  • Use SocialTide for spam, automation, or any commercial solicitation without authorization
  • Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits any other user's use or enjoyment of the app

Violations may result in immediate content removal and/or permanent account suspension or termination.


Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content & Abusive Behavior

SocialTide has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. This policy exists to protect all members of our community and is strictly enforced.

Objectionable Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated under any circumstances:

  • Content that is sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene
  • Content that is hateful, discriminatory, or promotes violence against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic
  • Content that glorifies, encourages, or facilitates self-harm or suicide
  • Content that exploits, abuses, or endangers minors in any way
  • Content that is defamatory, threatening, or intended to harass or intimidate
  • Content that facilitates illegal activity
  • Graphic violence or content intended to shock or disturb

Abusive Behavior

The following behaviors toward other users are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, or sustained targeting of another user
  • Threatening or intimidating language directed at any person
  • Stalking or unwanted repeated contact after a user has indicated they do not want further communication
  • Doxxing — publishing private or identifying information about another person without their consent
  • Coordinated campaigns intended to harm, silence, or remove another user from the platform

Enforcement & 24-Hour Removal Commitment

We take reports of objectionable content and abusive behavior seriously. We are committed to reviewing and acting on all reports of objectionable content or abusive users within 24 hours of a report being received. When a violation is identified — whether through user reporting or our own moderation — we will take action promptly, up to and including:

  • Removal of the offending content within 24 hours of it being reported
  • Temporary suspension of the account pending investigation
  • Permanent termination of the account with no right to appeal in cases of severe or repeated violations
  • Reporting to law enforcement where required or appropriate

Users found to have posted objectionable content or engaged in abusive behavior will be removed from the platform. There are no second chances for the most serious violations.


Privacy & Data Use

Your use of SocialTide is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data.

SocialTide complies with applicable privacy laws, including PIPEDA (Canada), GDPR (EU), and relevant U.S. regulations.


Communications

We may send transactional communications, including:

  • Account verification
  • Password resets
  • Security notifications

We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.


Service Availability

The app is provided "as is." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without liability.


Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SocialTide is not liable for:

  • Indirect or incidental damages
  • Loss of data
  • User-generated content
  • User interactions

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Where required, local consumer protection laws may apply.


Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email.
